The oldest widlife sanctuaries in india is jim corbett national park which is located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand state. it is named after legendary naturalist and conservationist jim corbett. it is India’s first national park and was established in 1936. Located at the foothills of Himalaya , near the popular hill station of Nainital, this national park is famous for being home to a large number of Tigers, the highest among any Indian national park. It is spread over1318.54 sq km of which 520 sq km is the main area,and the remaining is buffer.
